Priya Family Vineyards

The story of Priya Family Vineyards dates back to 1972 when the Boomers contingent of the Das family relocated to Boston from India.

At the time, Steven Spielberg had not yet terrified the world with Jaws, knee-high tube socks were all the rage, and, pertaining to this story, President Lyndon B. Johnson's immigration act was just beginning to extensively increase cultural diversity throughout the country.

Following the adventurous example set by the generation preceding him, Shomo Das (b. 1993) traveled the world with his family, and he was fascinated by two key elements of these voyages.

Cultures and Experiences.

Naturally, a few decades later, Shomo stumbled into the realm of wine, got hooked, and purchased his first vineyard, founding Priya Family Vineyards (his paternal grandmother's namesake).

Inspired by the wines produced in the Bordeaux region of France, Priya Family Vineyards' climatic emulation sought out Santa Barbara County, California as its home.

The vintage takes an inventive approach, having developed and perfected its one-of-a kind, East Meets West production process.

The vinification is purely artistic.

With 6 tons of wine and an excitable puppy, Shomo launched the vintage and has since been building the brand to stand for the values upon which it was founded.

"Each bottle of our wine is produced with zest, with your delight in mind. At Priya Family Vineyards, passion meets purpose. It is a privilege to share our wine with you.” - Shomo Das
